  • What criteria are the applications juried by?


    Hudson River Exchange SUMMER MARKET is a juried fair, which helps us to keep a varied and wide range of high quality products. We are also interested in supporting the growth and development of Makers + Collectors in our community who have a vision and commitment to their craft. Due to limited space availability, we may not be able to accommodate all who apply. Vendors will be selected on the basis of quality and uniqueness, as we are looking to bring together a wide variety of content.

    1. Innovative and unique. We look for expertly crafted handmade goods with unique and innovative design and special vintage collections of high quality objects. For food, we look for vendors that strive to serve beautifully presented or packaged well-sourced ingredients. 

    Do you have product or service that you think would benefit our audience? We offer sponsor tables for companies who contribute to our mission of helping the development of Maker + Collector entrepreneurs or to Hudson as a culturally rich destination.

    2. Diversity of products at SUMMER MARKET. For example we accept a limited amount of vendors in each category such as, jewelry, clothing, paper goods, lighting, leather goods, baby items, etc.

    3. Diversity of designs or products you sell. We are looking for consistency with-in a line of products. We prefer vendors that have specialized in a product but offer a variety within that genre.

    4. Price of items. We are looking for pricing consistent with both the quality of the work and accessible to the Hudson River Exchange audience. Average price for products falls between $1-$250.


    Why is there a non-refundable application fee?


    A $15 non-refundable application fee is due in order to process your application. The application fee covers costs associated administrative expenses to process and jury applications. Applications will not be reviewed if the application fee has not been paid. Once you submit the application, you should be rerouted to a PayPal page where you can complete payment. PayPal does not require you to have an account to make this transaction. If selected, the application fee will be deducted from your final booth fee.

    Can I share a booth space with another vendor?

    Yes!

    We request that all those interested in participating in the market submit an application. Please note that each submission will be juried individually. All vendors must be reviewed and accepted prior to the event. If you are sharing a booth, there is a $25 fee in addition to the booth fee (ie. 10’x10′ space would be $145 + $25 and subtract both application fees).

    Just remember to indicate on your application under ‘ADDITIONAL REQUESTS’ that you will be sharing a booth and the name of the business you would like to share with. The application with shared booth requests will not be reviewed until both applicants have submitted their application.

    We require an additional fee because each business will be posted on our vendor directory individually.

    What does the booth fee include?

    The booth fees cover the cost of vending at the Summer Market for the entire event. We require participants to be in attendance all market days: June 27 & 28, 2015 rain or shine. The booth fee provides you will a 10’x10′ or 10x’5′ space under large event tents. All participants are responsible for supplying their display set up. The vendors are hosted under large (approx 60’x80′) weatherproof tents which are over a grass field. The spaces are marked and assigned prior to the event.

    There will be rentable tables and chairs and you are welcome to bring additional racks or other displays if you prefer. All displays must fit within the given space. Vendors will be responsible for bringing their own material to create their display. Displays should be tidy and ask that any extra inventory kept in the space that is hidden from view. Hudson River Exchange organizers ask for vendors’ cooperation to adjust or remove any obtrusive display elements at HRE’s discretion.

    For all events, Hudson River Exchange promotes through advertisements and social media. If there are particular images you would like HRE to use for social media, please send them to media@hudsonriverexchange.comA vendor page will be created with a listing with links of all participants. We will also end small pack of flyers and postcards for those vendors that request them. We think it’s important to get the word out through different kinds of media about our event — print, social, and digital.

  • EARLY APPLICATION DEADLINE Thursday, April 30th, 2015. Early applications will be notified Tuesday, May 5th. APPLICATIONS CLOSE Friday, May 15th. Applications received by the 15th will be notified by Tuesday, May 19th.

    The booth fees cover the cost of vending at the Summer Market for the entire event. We require participants to be in attendance all market days: June 27  & 28, 2015 rain or shine. Market hours: Saturday 10AM-6PM & Sunday 11AM-4PM.

    APPLICATION FEE $15 (non-refundable) If your application is accepted, the $15 application fee will be deducted from your booth fee.

    Sales Tax + Permits

    Vendors are responsible for collecting and reporting sales tax.  You can contact New York State’s department of revenue for more info.

    Cancellation Policy + Refunds

    Unfortunately, Hudson River Exchange is unable to refund fees once final payment has been received for the spaces. Booth spaces and fees are not transferrable.

studios, workshops, farms, and kitchens.
