Sarah Mijares Fick is a ceramic artist living in Hudson, NY. Since 2011, Mijares Fick has developed her practice independently and through various mentorships. She worked under noted ceramic artists in New York, New Mexico, and South Korea before establishing Sarah Mijares Studio in 2020. Much of Sarah’s work stems from automatic writing or drawing, followed by a spontaneous approach to sculpting. These sessions often yield lively, unpredictable forms filled with a sense of movement and freedom. Mijares Fick’s practice is informed by her reverence for the Earth and her connection to the unseen.
